Emmily Marcela Kozan Ribeiro was born and raised in Brazil and earned her law degree from the University of Parana in 2009. While pursuing her legal education in Brazil, she also worked under the supervision of a renowned attorney in the areas of social security, civil litigation, and criminal defense. Emmily is currently attending Barry Law School and anticipates graduating with her J.D. Degree in May 2021. During her time at Barry Law School, Emmily has been dedicated to helping indigent noncitizens in the school’s Immigration Clinic, where she successfully prevailed in a habeas corpus petition before the U.S. 11th Circuit Court of Appeals. As a law clerk at Sokolof Remtulla, Emmily manages foreign clients’ cases, including immigration and civil matters. Besides her native language of Portuguese, Emmily is fluent in English and Spanish.
